Simple Pleasures
Waking to the peaceful beauty of my private section of shoreline, witnessing the sunrise painting the sky over a serene lake. A morning breeze caresses my skin as I have my coffee on the deck. Lovely sunsets and the rhythmic sound of the water against the shore instill comfort and a sense of gratitude for the beauty and the simple pleasures in life.
While some sources will outline the cons of owning a lake house, you'll find them no different from owning a home in any other forested or wet region of the country or owning a home in general. They cost more because they’re valuable. A pontoon boat tied off on my dock and being able to take my grandchildren for rides around the lake is valuable. The ability to drop right in with my kayak is valuable. Being able to go out and catch fish for dinner while basking under the warm afternoon sun is valuable. It's about making a life and memories in a beautiful place that I can call my own.
