“You’ve Got Mad Skillz Ash”

Ashley’s DIY Kitchen Renovation

My kitchen is a culmination of long overdue dreams and grief. I had always dreamed of a beautiful open space to cook in, have my morning coffee, or host guests. I wanted my space to reflect my personality and my love for all things Coca-Cola. Throughout the years, people have gifted me so many unique Coca-Cola items including the cabinet pulls I used. At the end of October 2021, I had just finished painting my kitchen pre-renovation and had planned to show my dad the results the following day. Unfortunately, I never had the chance. He passed away in early November of 2021. After his passing, all of his tools were given to me.

I began my kitchen renovation in January of 2022 and commonly referred to it as my grief project. I am a DIYer, and I love upcycling items to give them new life. I was able to upcycle cabinets from my in-law’s renovation next door and repurpose them for our coffee bar and small island. I used a combination of his tools and mine to install the cabinets for the coffee bar and the island. I used many of my dad’s tools to tear down the old breakfast bar and create the counter-height peninsula. The beautiful quartz counters were picked by my husband, and I meticulously picked out all the rest of the details that made this kitchen come to life. So much blood, sweat, and tears went into making this dream kitchen a reality and while I desperately wish my dad were here to see it, I know without a doubt that he would have said “You’ve got mad skillz Ash”. This is the space I am most proud of, and I am so happy to be able to share a snippet of it with everyone.

I’m a licensed real estate professional hanged with Long Realty Referral Associates in Arizona. I received my license in 2020 and was an active REALTOR® in Phoenix my first year. I moved to Michigan in 2021 and changed my designation from sales agent to referral agent which now allows me to serve people in any state in the USA and 70 other countries!

Meanwhile, for nearly a decade, I’ve worked in the Mortgage industry opening and closing mortgage loans. I have an in-depth understanding of the homebuying process from start to finish, so I know the value that great Realtors bring to the experience for homebuyers and investors. Especially first-time homebuyers.

My love of real estate began back in 2008 in Marketing where I was the coordinator of a magazine called Properties of the Southwest. I worked with high caliber Realtors creating their marketing materials and showcasing their clients’ properties in many prestigious magazines and The Wall Street Journal. Serving them gave me great insight into what makes top notch listing agents for clients selling properties.
